Novo Cinemas brings to Qatar 'The Seventh Summit,' an inspiring documentary film about mountaineers—including Qatar's very own Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani—who took on the Seven Summits Challenge.

In the world of mountain climbing, the Seven Summits Challenge is a premier mountaineering adventure that involves scaling the highest peak on each of the seven continents. To date, fewer than 350 people the world over have succeeded in this astonishing accomplishment.

‘The Seventh Summit’ follows the story of a group of men and one woman in their attempt to make it to the top of Mount Denali in Alaska—the highest point in North America.

The group of climbers need only to reach the top of Mount Denali to complete the challenge, but Denali is especially challenging, and the success rate for getting to the top is a mere 40 or 50%.

The film will see the struggles of the four seasoned climbers on realising their lofty dream while pitted against the stunning backdrop of the snowy Alaskan peaks as they face the longest storm ever recorded on Denali.

Joining Sheikh Al Thani—the first Qatari who scaled the Mount Everest—in this adventurous and heroic story are Raed Zidan and Massoud Kalafji. The three close friends had summited 6 of the 7 summits together.

The first Arab woman to reach the highest peak on Earth, Suzanne Al Houby, is also part of the cast.
