We've reported last time that the The European Cultural Cluster (EUNIC) in Qatar is holding the so-called 'European Film Festival' (EFF) for the first time in Qatar and tonight at 8 PM, it's officially screening its opening film at the Museum of Islamic Art's posh auditorium.
The fulfillment of a European-themed film festival in Qatar is a bold attempt to bring the cultural diversity of Europe closer to Qatar. EFF is an excellent opportunity to present the EU cultural diversity with screenings of outstanding films contributed by EU Member States, reflecting the official motto of the EU: “United in Diversity”.
The festival will screen at least 10 films in different languages—Austrian, Belgian, Bulgarian, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, and Swedish. Diverse themes such as migration, sports, life struggles and different genres, including drama, romance, fantasy and comedy will be featured during the course of the film fest which will conclude on October 23.
The film festival will have two screenings per day (5pm and 8pm) with the exception of the opening day on October 18 and 21.
