Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, schools in Qatar have shifted to distance learning. Now that we're in the hottest time of the year, traditional summer camps are still out of the question for the safety of kids. Virtual summer camps are a good option to keep your kids occupied while at the same time learning something new right inside the comforts of your home.

1. Qatar Foundation

Join Qatar Foundation's Live Community Summer Camp 2020 for various STEM, Arabic, Sports, Arts, Cooking, and Gardening activities to sharpen the kids and bond with new friends online while at the comforts of your home. It is open for kids from 4 to 12 years old. Parents are encouraged to join (especially for ages 4 - 6).

2. Studio 5/6

Studio 5/6 is an ICT Maker Space initiative by the Ministry of Transport and Communication aimed at nurturing youth as digital learners by sharpening their 21sth century learning skills, as they develop in an all-pervasive digital environment.

It offers technology and allied equipment support for hands-on learning opportunities. Here, youth can develop their problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and innovation skills. This will also develop young people’s knowledge of technology and help them to become future creators of technology.

    3. British Council Qatar

    The British Council Qatar has launched new online English courses in response to Covid-19. Children can join the summer programme from home through a tailormade online learning platform that offers live classroom lessons with dedicated British Council teachers.

    Primary Plus, which is suitable for children aged six to 11, is designed to be as child-friendly and intuitive as possible with high quality, engaging materials - including lots of varied activities, with songs, videos, and quizzes. It will focus on critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and citizenship alongside English learning. Secondary Plus, designed for those aged 12 to 17, will help develop students into assertive, independent global citizens. It features an exciting range of practical and challenging tasks to encourage self-expression and creative thinking in a digital world.

    4. Qatar Robotics Club
