According to a report by Al Raya News, the traditional Qatari attire will be adopted for Qatari students in grades six to twelve in all pre-university schools at Qatar Foundation starting from the next academic year, excluding students from Qatar Leadership Academy.
As per Al Raya News, parents of pre-university students were informed of the updates to the uniform policy. Qatari students in the aforementioned classes are obliged to commit to wearing the traditional Qatari attire: the thobe, the ghitra, and the headband. This initiative contributes to instilling a sense of cultural belonging and pride in identity among Qatari students.
Non-Qatari students, however, can choose to wear traditional Qatari attire or stick with the current dress code.
The uniform policy for female students and students below the sixth grade remains the same.
