Research reveals that over the course of summer vacation, students often lose around 2.5 months of maths skills and about 2 months of reading skills. This phenomenon commonly referred to as summer slide can lead to a decline in achievement scores and a widened knowledge gap among many young learners.

To avoid the summer slide, it is crucial to keep the learning process going through the months when school is not in session. At a time when social distancing is the new norm, virtual summer programmes are a great way for students to keep the learning and study habits alive. Online classes may not fully replace physical classroom education, but it can certainly help young learners gain new skills; explore new subjects and interests; and reinforce schoolwork.

As we begin to look towards the next months with uncertainty and homeschooling is one of the biggest challenges facing many households, StudySTEM Education Centre is pleased to be able to provide additional academic support through its online Summer School Boost Programme.

The centre’s virtual summer camp is a combination of online tutoring sessions and homework packs to provide an individualized programme for students and to help ensure that they are ready to head back to school.

StudySTEM caters to the educational needs of young learners from ages 6-14 by partnering with two esteemed educational brands from the UK - MagiKats and GoCode Academy. It offers ability-fit enrichment programmes for English, maths, coding, and other subjects.

To know more information about StudySTEM programmes, you may register for their FREE webinar and taster sessions on June 20, 2020 (Saturday), at 1:00 PM.
