Al Bairaq programme, an initiative of Qatar University, has achieved great success in the Reimagine Education Conference and Awards 2019, wining for the fourth year in a row.
The programme won gold award in the Natural Science discipline and silver award in Middle East region, out of 1,500 applications in 16 categories.
The win coincided with the 10th anniversary of the programme started in 2010.
Dr Noora al-Thani, head of the Al Bairaq programme and head, Communication and Outreach at Qatar University, expressed her happiness and pride in the successes Al Bairaq has been achieving year after year.
She said:
"Since its initiation in 2010, Al Bairaq has a very important social responsibility to empower Qatari youth and enable them to compete globally.
"Therefore, the programme offers specialised educational tracks, aiming to stimulate the curiosity of the students by providing an interactive learning environment that results in creations and scientific innovations."
She also emphasised on the programme's commitment to achieving the Qatar Vision 2030 in the areas of education, national community development, human development and strategic sustainability.
Reimagine Education is a global conference, competition and platform that brings together startups, academics from top universities, education innovators, university leaders, and those interested in the future of teaching and learning.
It is an initiative from the Wharton University in Pennsylvania, one of the most prestigious universities in the US, and QS Quacquarelli Symonds, specialised in evaluating universities globally.
It aims to recognise institutions and programmes that seek to create educational initiatives and innovations that work to enhance the outcomes of students' learning and qualify them for the job market. (QNA)
