Al Sharq newspaper reported on 24 April 2022, that the Qatar National Library is to provide free access to electronic resources. The resources will include those suitable for all ages across various fields and topics.
Some of the material that can be downloaded will include e-books, audiobooks, academic papers, newspapers, and magazine articles. Users would also be able to listen to music, watch videos and also avail of free browsing.
As per the article, one of the most popular resources is the "Read in Arabic" platform. It provides a digital reading platform that encourages the practice of reading in students. The platform includes 16 levels to meet the requirements of native and non-native students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
