The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has posted on its Twitter account the list of precautionary measures to be followed during rotational attendance at schools.

"We are committed to your health and safety as you return back to schools. Your awareness and observance of the precautionary measures are what will help us fulfill this commitment," the Ministry said in its tweet.

The new rotational attendance system is taking effect today, as announced on October 21.

Check the list of the precautionary measures to be followed during rotational attendance at schools:

  • Students should be split into groups of up to 15 students in each classroom.
  • Schools will organize the entry and exit of students to school grounds to maintain physical distancing and avoid overcrowding.
  • A distance of 1.5 meters must be maintained between students in classrooms.
  • Face masks must be worn.
  • Students with chronic diseases supported by approved medical reports are exempted from attending schools in-person.
  • Teaching and admin staff must observe the precautionary measures and fully cooperate with the concerned authorities if any cases of Covid-19 are confirmed or suspected.
  • The concerned authorities will impose appropriate penalties where breaches of the precautionary measures are identified.
  • Violation of these obligations will result in appropriate legal actions.
