New universities to open in Qatar

HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi stressed the ministry's keenness to attract the best international universities to come to the State of Qatar to provide programs that serve all sectors in the state and contribute to achieving distinguished educational opportunities for national cadres.

On the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) in partnership with Northumbria University (NU), HE the Education Minister underlined that the ministry is keen on having a diverse range of programs offered by the universities in Qatar, pointing out that the NU is characterized by providing programs that serve the banking sector, finance, and investment in the state. He pointed out that there are several new programs to be added in the future.

HE the Education Minister noted that the state will add new universities in the coming years to join the prestigious universities from Britain and other countries that have opened their branches in Qatar.

HE Al Hammadi congratulated the first batch of QFBA graduates, pointing out that the graduation of this batch comes within the framework of achieving the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education aimed at achieving diverse and distinguished educational opportunities.

Commenting on the results of the secondary school, HE the Education Minister said that the results came out with distinct rates exceeded 80 percent, which is the largest in the past four years.

The QFBA-Northumbria (QFBA-NU) University celebrated on Tuesday the graduation of the first cohort of 23 graduating students obtained their BA (HONS) degrees in International Banking and Finance.

HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi and HE Deputy Governor of the Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Abdullah Al-Thani attended the graduation ceremony.

The Northumbria University in Qatar recently opened admission applications for degree majors in Accounting, Finance and Investments, and International Banking and Finance, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Northumbria University is one of the largest public Universities in the United Kingdom, ranked ninth in the nation by a number of Bachelor's degree and Higher education graduates. Northumbria has also cemented its footing among the top ten universities in the UK by a number of graduates entering professional employment: 9 out of 10 Northumbria graduates join the advanced ranks of the workforce within six months of their graduation. Equally, the institution ranks 4th in the nation by a number of graduate students who set up their own start-ups.
