Qatar National Library has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Qatari Authors Forum to be a general framework for future projects of mutual concern in the fields of education, technology, research and culture.

The MoU was signed by Executive Director of Qatar National Library Dr. Suhair Wastawy and Director of the Qatari Authors Forum Mariam Yassin Al Hammadi.

Dr. Wastawy said that signing the agreement with the Qatari Authors Forum reflects the joint commitment to enhancing and preserving the cultural heritage of the State of Qatar, adding that the MoU allows a great opportunity for QNL to strengthen its relations with prominent Qatari authors and contribute to supporting promising writers.

She noted that such partnerships enable the enrichment of cultural and literary initiatives and the refinement of creativity and innovation through enhanced communication among the entire community.

For her part, Al Hammadi said that signing the MoU with a distinguished partner like Qatar National Library is an addition to the Forum. Through this partnership both sides will be able to work together to serve authors and writers through various projects and programs.

Following the issuance of the decision of HE the Minister of Culture and Sports establishing the Qatari Authors Forum, the Forum is working to establish several partnerships to support the authors and contribute to the cultural movement in the country.

The two sides agreed on mutual cooperation to serve the joint interests of the two foundations and promote research interests.

The MoU constitutes the general framework for cooperation by identifying common areas of interest for future cooperation and determining the mechanism by which any specific proposal mutually agreed upon will be managed and implemented.
