The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced via a tweet on 13 September 2022 that they have decided to close the kindergarten that the child who passed away on 11 September 2022 was going to.

قررت وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي إغلاق الروضة الخاصة التي شهدت الحادث المأساوي الذي هز المجتمع، موقعة أشد العقوبات؛ بعد أن أثبت التحقيق تقصير العاملين ما أدى إلى وفاة إحدى الطالبات. وتجدد الوزارة التزامها بضمان أمن وسلامة أبنائنا الطلبة في مختلف مؤسساتنا التعليمية.

As previously reported, the child had fallen asleep in the bus on the way to school and was left behind when other children got off at the school. The child's presence was not noticed by the school staff, who locked and parked the bus outdoors.

As per the ministry, the investigation they carried out proved that it was the negligence of the staff that led to the tragic death of the child; therefore, severe punishments have been imposed.

Additionally, the ministry stresses its commitment to ensuring students are safe and secure across educational institutes.
