The academic year of government schools will end as scheduled on June 21, 2020, according to Mohammed Ahmad Al Bishri, Adviser to the Minister of Education and Higher Education, in an interview with Qatar Television, as reported in The Peninsula.
Students of grades 1 to 11 will conclude their distance learning on May 7, 2020, while students of grade 12 will continue their distance learning until the end of the final examinations.
As for private schools, he said that the Ministry has notified the private schools through a circular that they could end or reduce the academic year as long as it does not affect the approved study hours.
He also mentioned that registration next year will be through remote interviews between students and schools as part of the preventive measures of the Ministry.
