The Department of Students Assessment which has an affiliation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's (MOEHE) Evaluation Affairs Sector has brought forward (pre-poned) the exams of the end of the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021 for secondary school certificates by one week.
This means that the exams will begin on 24 May 2021, after the Eid al-Fitr holidays, instead of 30 May 2021 as planned in the annual school calendar. Moreover, the Department extended the exam period for three days so that the exams will end on 12 June 2021 instead of 9 June 2021.
The Department also issued the schedules of the exams of the end of the school year (first round) for grade 12 (secondary school certificate) for arts and humanities, scientific and technology tracks, as well as adult education and parallel track. The Department also called on schools to announce the schedules by all possible means and expressed its hope that students will achieve success and excellence in these exams.
MOEHE, in its tweet on its official Twitter account, clarified that the dates of the exams of the end of the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021 for grade 12 have been brought forward out of the Ministry's keenness to preserve the interest of students. This also includes preparing all conditions appropriate for students, as well as taking into account the specified rate of student numbers in schools in the light of the current circumstances of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
