If you’re unsure about the definition of a certain word or you don’t know where to eat next, we’ve got you covered with our list of Top 5 apps that will help you make your life easier!
1. Shazam (Music app)
Heard a new song but didn’t know what it was called? Don’t worry! Shazam’s here to help you out. With just one tap you can identify whatever music is playing around you, even when you are offline. You can also use Shazam’s visual recognition to ‘Shazam’ different magazines, posters, and so on! Shazam also allows you to make playlists and follow others. This app is available on both the Apple app store and the Google Play store.
2. Zomato (Food finder)
Craving a burger but you don't want to go to the same ol’ place? This app is for everyone whether you’re a foodie or not! This user-friendly app lets you look for restaurants by location, cuisine or name. You can check out menus, pictures, contact information, directions and user-reviews. You can also do in-app bookings for select places. This is available on both the Apple app store and the Google Play store.
3. Merriam-Webster
This is a lifesaving dictionary app. Besides word definitions and audio pronunciations, the app also provides a ‘word of the day’, an integrated thesaurus, fun quizzes to enrich vocabulary, and you can also keep track of your most used/favourite words. You can use the Merriam-Webster app without the internet. It’s available on both the Apple app store and the Google Play store.
4. Ooredoo
This app allows you to manage and pay for all the Ooredoo services that you receive. This includes Hala, Shahry, Broadband, Ooredoo TV and Ooredoo Passport. You can customise your account to your own needs and see updates on your account too. This app also provides a ‘digital’ telephone directory with listings for residential, business and government contacts. You can also search and reserve ‘easy to remember’ numbers, for example 33333333. You can download the Ooredoo app from the Apple app store and the Google Play store.
5. Karwa Ride
Through this app you can book a taxi ride beforehand instead of standing in the heat and hailing one. You can rate your trips, track your assigned taxi, manage your favorite locations and receive e-bills for all your rides. This app was created to make public transportation easier for all of us living in Qatar! It’s available for download on the Apple app store and Google Play store.
