Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA)- member of Qatar Foundation has started the first workshop of the 4th Diabetes Educator Graduate Certificate programfor health care practitioners in Qatar.
The program is developed by The Michener Institute of Education at UHN (Canada), a leader in applied health science education. It is primarily offered online via distance education for a period of 6 months with 1 live onsite workshop in Qatar.
The program started online on March 2017 and will be ending in August 2017 with 30 Health Care Professionals from the public and private sectors of Qatar participating in the program.
Speaking at the event, Dr Abdulla Al Hamaq, Executive Director of Qatar Diabetes Association- Qatar Foundation, said; “This program offers an excellent opportunity for enabling health care providers to become professional diabetes educator.”
“It provides the latest updates on the clinical management of diabetes with an emphasis on educational and behavioural change strategies proven to support people with diabetes to improve their health outcome.” added Dr Al Hamaq.
For the last 4 years 100 health care providers have taken part in this program.
