Qatar's population has grown by 2.5% compared to the figures for August, according to the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.
The population on September 30 was 2,347,000, which is marginally more than the second highest population of 2,346,723, recorded on March 31. The gender-wise break up of the latest figure was not provided.
The highest population ever in Qatar, 2,374,860, was recorded on May 31 this year. The year's lowest figures were on July 31, when the population was 2,120,129, mainly because a number of residents were on vacation. Compared to the June figures, there was a fall of more than 224,000 people.
Usually in the months between November and May, the country's population shows a rise every month, except between the end of December and the middle of January. During this period, a large number of residents go overseas.
