Throughout October, Qatar Music Academy (QMA) students from the Western music department participated in a 'Practice-A-Thon' challenge to raise awareness and donations for Education Above All's (EAA) initiatives.
Students pledged to practice their instruments in return for the support of their sponsors donating to this charity event. On October 21, 2022, students who completed the challenge performed in a "closing ceremony" for an audience, highlighting their skill progression as a result of practising every day and ceremoniously handed over the donation box to EAA representatives.
This initiative was organized by Ms Ai Moser, Western piano faculty who believes that consistent practice is key to true music excellence.
"Modeling charity and kindness to others for students is an important part of nurturing their development and guiding them to become proactive and productive members of society,” said Ai Moser.
“I am grateful to all our piano students for their generous donation towards the Education Above All’s initiative. My thanks to Ms Ai and other teachers who supported this valuable cause,” said QMA director Zlatan Fazlić.
