Qatar Charity (QC), through its office in the Gaza Strip, has implemented the school bag and uniform project for the academic year 2019/2020 to support the sponsored orphans.
As part of the project worth 75,060 Qatari riyals, each of 278 orphans, sponsored by Qatar Charity in the Gaza Strip, received school bags, uniforms, and stationery items.
“I am very delighted that I will start the second semester of this academic year with a new school bag, uniform, and stationery items,” said a 10 year-old Amjad, expressing his joyful feeling at receiving school materials.
“This aid came in on time to meet the school requirements of my two sons studying at a school,” said a mother of two orphans, thanking benefactors in Qatar for supporting her children.
“This project aims at easing economic pressures on the families of the orphans by providing them with school supplies,” said Eng. Mohammed Abu Haloub, director of Qatar Charity's office in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity works on supporting the Palestinian education sector along with its other sectors. Its educational support includes building and repairing schools, classrooms, and training centers, in addition to providing them with solar power.
Qatar Charity’s education projects in Gaza includes the construction and furnishing of six classrooms in the Fahd Al-Sabah School, opening Al-Shaimaa Secondary School for Girls in Beit Lahia, giving alternative energy to 60 schools in light of the continuous power cuts, and providing the scientific laboratories to public schools, in addition many other projects that have been implemented in the education sector of Gaza.
