Qatar Charity launches a campaign for Eid al-Adha

Qatar Charity (QC) has launched Eid al-Adha campaign for 1440 Hijri. The campaign aims to provide more than 55000 sacrificial (Qurbani) cattle, which include cows and sheep, within Qatar and in 30 African, Asian and European countries, and is expected to benefit more than one million people. The campaign will also provide Eid clothes for children in dire need, QC has announced.

The campaign will provide 5500 sacrificial cattle in Qatar and benefit 65,000 people, according to QC. The Qurbani will be delivered to low-income families, in addition to the workers, the orphans' festival will be distributed to 390 orphans, while 600 people will benefit from Eid clothes.

Faisal Al Fehaida, Assistant General Manager, Operations and International Partnerships, Qatar Charity, said: "Qatar Charity pays great attention to the sacrificial project, which brings joy and pleasure to the hearts of poor families, orphans, and widows, during Eid al-Adha, he stressed Qatar Charity's keenness to expand the benefits of the project and to diversify its distribution sites to cover the most deserving categories, wherever they are located all over the world.

He pointed out that this year will focus on the categories of refugees whose circumstances forced them to move away from their countries and homes, and the allocation of sacrificial of (Qurbani) and be distributed to them in the countries they resorted to, such as Syrian refugees in Turkey, Lebanon and others. The Somalis in the Dadaab camps in Kenya, the Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh and others in recognition of their difficult situation and humanitarian suffering because sacrificial (Qurbani) of the crises in their countries.

He also said that the project of outside Qatar is one of the largest seasonal projects carried out by Qatar Charity, which is witnessing a remarkable increase each year in terms of the number of individuals and recipient countries, and the estimated increase this year by 25% compared to last year. Sacrificial (Qurbani) Faisal Al-Fehaid said that Qatar Charity will focus this year on countries that are witnessing exceptional events and conditions, targeting distribution of more than 3,000 in Yemen. The Syrian refugees in Turkey will benefit from more than 2,000 sacrifices.
