Qatar Charity (QC), through its office in the Gaza Strip, has distributed 2,200 food baskets to needy families of fishermen living under the problematic economic and social conditions.
Some 2,000 families have benefited from these food baskets worth 360,000 Qatari riyals, in addition to 200 families sponsored under the social welfare program in the Gaza Strip.
Aiming to preserving the human dignity of the needy, the distribution of the food baskets was carried out via the coupons that enabled beneficiary families to purchase directly necessary items to meet their food needs.
This assistance is particularly important in light of the economic crisis that the Palestinian people are currently going through.
The beneficiaries expressed their delight at receiving food items, thanking Emir of Qatar, wise Qatari leadership, people, and Qatar Charity for their efforts in leasing the burdens upon beneficiary families.
Mohamed Abu Haloub, director of Qatar Charity's office in the Gaza Strip, said that all beneficiaries were carefully selected, and these food baskets would contribute to supporting the families of the poorest fishermen in the Gaza Strip, thanking benefactors and donors in Qatar for supporting people in Gaza.
