Ooredoo Presence at 13th Annual Symposium Part of Policy of Supporting Every Section of the Community

Ooredoo provided support for the Sri Lankan community at the 13th Annual Symposium of the Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar recently, as part of the on-going work it conducts for every community in the country.

A leading socio-cultural organisation, Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ) hosted members and their families, well-wishers and other key delegates at the annual symposium, held at the College of North Atlantic Qatar.

Ooredoo was one of the supporters of the award ceremony at the event, which saw individuals celebrated for their outstanding services to the community and their achievements.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, who was present at the event, said: “We are pleased to support the Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar, under the patronage of the Sri Lankan embassy. They have been doing some commendable work through charity and community events, and we see good value in the initiatives being undertaken by the organisation.”

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar H.E. Mr. Jayantha Palipane was the chief guest at the symposium this year, which ran under the theme of ‘Co-existence among communities’. Dr. Jehan Perera, Executive Director at National Peace Council of Sri Lanka delivered the keynote speech, during which he spoke about the contributions of Sri Lankan Muslims to the wider community.

Through the event, Ooredoo and the Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar brought together Sri Lankan families residing in the State of Qatar for an evening of fun and networking.
