McDonald’s Qatar, the leading food service in Qatar has a rich record of helping society through its own programs and services that significantly enhance the lives and welfare of the community. Guided by solid corporate values dictating philanthropy and benevolence, McDonald’s Qatar teamed up, for the fourth time this year, with Wahab, an organization that redistributes surplus food to the needy, for a warm initiative of giving winter jackets to labourers.

Inspired by Qatar’s Vision 2030 and part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility initiatives this year, McDonald’s Qatar is reinforcing its number of community-service endeavours that are aimed at engaging and supporting labourers who play a major role in driving forward development targets of the country’s infrastructure.

A total of 200 jackets were distributed by Wahab volunteers and McDonald’s staff to labourers at street number 19 and 38 in the industrial area.

Ghada Kamal, Marketing Manager of McDonald’s Qatar (Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co) said: “We are continuously looking for ways to embrace a series of humanitarian and community service activities that further help the workforce in Qatar. We understand that the construction workers are vital to our economy and they have a tough job. We wanted to make them feel recognized for their relentless contribution and appreciated by making a simple gesture to make their lives a little more comfortable.

During summer we distributed cold neck towels to them and now during the winter, we are showing our support for their hard work by supplying them with jackets to keep them warm as temperatures drop. Through our relationship with Wahab, we are able to reach more individuals and empower more people in need in the community.” McDonald’s Qatar reiterates its commitment to the community at large by sponsoring various social initiatives in Qatar.
