Long-time Doha resident N Narayana Swamy (72), popularly known as Chandran, died in Thrissur, Kerala, on Tuesday. He leaves behind his wife Vanaja, and one son and two daughters. Swamy had been in Doha for about 40 years. He worked in a managerial position in Al Muftah Rent-a-Car and left the country earlier this month after a stroke. Swamy was a familiar face in the Indian community events. Swamy’s son, Santhosh Neelakantan Narayanaswamy, is a managing committee member of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and vice-president of expatriate forum All India Cultural Congress (AICC Qatar). Santhosh is also the managing director of Capital Insurance Brokers. In a statement, the AICC Qatar mourned Swamy’s death.
