FPS (First Person Shooter) games have been a thriving genre in Qatar's gaming community.

More and more gaming creators and streamers have been gaining traction in the genre, including Jassim Alkubaisi.

Get to know his gaming and streaming journey with the popular FPS game, Call of Duty.

ILQ: Tell us about yourself and the content you produce.

JA: My name is Jassim Alkubaisi. I’m from Qatar. I’m a content creator and a player with Msheireb Esports.

I like to play all kinds of games, especially shooter games.

ILQ: Why do you love playing Call of Duty (CoD)?

JA: Call of Duty uses a new engine that allows more detailed graphics. My favourite is Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

My favourite game mode is Search and Destroy. There are two teams, 6 players each playing either attack or defend. Attackers plant and activate a bomb on a site on the map and protect it from disruption by the defending team.

The defending team locates the bomb and tries to diffuse it. Players battle it out on the map, and the game ends if either team is killed and wiped, or the bomb successfully detonates.

ILQ: Can you describe your playstyle and loadout?

JA: I like to attack, play with reason and focus. I use the As Val, Al-Shotgun, M4, Karr and M13. I love playing on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare maps Vacant, Hackney Yard and Shoot House.

I also prefer playing with friends because I feel bored when I play alone.

The most kills I've gotten on CoD: Modern Warfare is 23, while I reached 31 kills on CoD: Warzone.

ILQ: Do you play on a console or PC?

JA: I've been using a console for a long time, but I started using the PC two years ago.

I switched platforms because playing on a PC offers more visually advanced graphics and broadcast quality in terms of streaming.

ILQ: What’s your advice for CoD players who want to get better at the game?

JA: My advice would be to love the game and practice. Keep maintaining the level of play, tactics, intelligence and focus.

ILQ: Can you tell us about Msheireb Esports?

JA: Msheireb Esports is an organization based in Qatar founded in 2021.

They reached out to me, and that's how I got to know them. I have participated in tournaments and championships through them. They are a helpful and friendly team. I’ve met and made new friends along the way.

ILQ: What do you think are the benefits of gaming?

JA: You learn professionalism in the field of e-sports when you play. You also get entertainment, pleasure, and develop skills.

There are games containing challenges that stimulate the mind and improve critical thinking.

ILQ: Can you tell us about your streaming journey?

JA: I started playing Call of Duty as a child and played on a Playstation. I started broadcasting in 2020 out of enthusiasm and love for the game.

I also loved how my friends and other people enjoyed my content. Playing, streaming and encouraging my friends makes me happy.

I enjoy streaming content of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and War Zone the most as it is a competitive game with a lot of action and requires skills and tactics. I look forward to playing and streaming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 soon.

ILQ: What advice would you give those who want to start streaming?
