Did you know that Qatar provides an important strategic stopover for migratory birds?

This month our goal is to identify realistic opportunities for everyone to open up to the wonders of Jurassic Park in our backyards in Qatar – to create an impact in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with concrete daily actions to enjoy and protect biodiversity. The first challenge is all about bees and birds. The Arabian peninsula and the tiny country of Qatar lie midway along the earth’s longest bird migration highway, one of eight major bird migration routes spanning Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania and the Americas for 3 billion birds.

Which of these are migratory bird species that stopover in Qatar?

  1. Black Swan
  2. Quail
  3. Angry Birds
  4. European Bee-eater
  5. Eurasian Hoopoe
  6. Ostrich
  7. Flamingo

Check your answer and find out about how to celebrate and protect biodiversity in Qatar and still enjoy holidays at home during COVID-19 Times at SustainableQATAR.com.
