Gas station worker delivers friday sermon doha praised

A video posted on Twitter by a user on 22 September 2022, shows a person named Abdul Rahman Abdul Rashid dressed in his uniform delivering the Friday sermon prayers in Qatar. As per the user, the Friday sermon was late, and the muezzin had asked someone to present the sermon.

After this, a young man working at a gas station near Hamad International Airport came forward to address the worshipers for the Friday prayer. The Twitter user said that "it was a distinctive and wonderful sermon".

As per The Siasat Daily, "he improvised without looking at anything written, and he was widely praised for his eloquence and his memorization of verses from the Holy Quran."

Ajyal Educational Centre also honoured the person. "The centre welcomed him amid the applause of the centre’s children, who threw flowers at him and gave him a standing ovation", said The Siasat Daily.

The centre also published a video recording of the youth. It said in a statement that the program participants honoured the gas station worker as part of the “Wathiq” program and in the context of promoting righteous behaviour and tolerant Islamic values.

The “Wathiq” program aims to address the phenomenon of bullying and highlight the value of human beings. Abdul Rahman Abdul Rashid was also praised by many on social media.
