McDonald’s Qatar celebrated an enchanted Garangao event, the age-old annual Qatari tradition on the night of mid-Ramadan with many children of various nationalities and their families at McDonald’s Town Center branch on the 19th of May. Media moms and their children also partake in the jolly celebration.
The delightful atmosphere was amplified with the loud cheers and singing of Garangao songs by the children as they walked collecting goody bags filled with candies prepared by the LSM. Different McDonald’s branches including, Airport, Markiya, Tebah, Umm Salal, Wakra, City Center, Al Meera- Qutaifiya Dafna, Rayyan2, WOQOD and Abu Hamor also hosted a fun-filled Garagao festival, the restaurants were packed with children with their parents. Selected kids dressed in best traditional and colorful Garangao costumes were awarded with special gifts items.
Ghada Kamal, Marketing Manager of McDonald’s Qatar said: “Garangao celebration allows us to spread happiness among the youngest members of the Qatari community. It is a tradition that deeply-rooted in Arabic culture that is designed to teach children the art of giving and sharing. By participating in this traditional celebration, we are perpetuating our message of kindness, sincerity, and the importance of being associated with the local community.”
In addition to the entertainment and arrays of activities arranged at selected restaurants, the grand appearance of birdie character wishing the kids and families a joyful Ramadan added the liveliness of the celebration.
