The Filipino Vloggers in Qatar (FVQ) community conducted a free workshop at Le Monde Cafe over the weekend and it was met with an overwhelming response from the Filipino content creators in Qatar, specifically those in YouTube.

A one-of-its-kind gathering, the main purpose of the workshop is to provide insights and help improve the film making and video editing skills of creative individuals who are currently exploring the YouTube realm.

The 3-hour long meet and greet session also showcased and unlocked the secrets on how to be successful on YouTube with the help of speakers Maykel De Mesa (food blogger PakbetTV) and corporate filmmaker Jess Limot (@thesanddunestory).

Food blogger Maykel De Mesa, who opened the programme with a short but fun presentation, revealed the secrets which make a successful YouTube personality. Right after telling in brief the struggles that he's been through while establishing his brand (which now has more than 5,000 subscribers), Maykel went straight to fulfilling his promise of providing classified insights to a crowd who are more than willing to learn from him.

Sigh Cee (@idressupandeat), one of the vloggers in attendance and organizers as well, commented on Maykel's dedication to work by pointing out the latter's smart way of dealing with stress and coming into terms with the obligation of uploading regular content at the same time.

"Your success secrets are no longer your secrets but ours too! We thank you for indulging us the tricks and tips we all need to grow and improve. Congratulations for a very motivational, eye-opening and awe-inspiring workshop, you deserve a standing ovation!"

The foodie, who moonlights as a nurse whenever he's not in front of the camera, emphasized the 3 Ts to prioritize when it comes to becoming big on YouTube: Title, Thumbnail, and Tags.

The second speaker, Mr. Jess Limot, works as a freelance filmmaker on the other hand. His talk was more on the technical aspect as he talked about video editing and camera techniques in a concise and engaging way.

"Sir Jess' session was quite memorable especially for me who's very new in the vlogging industry. He tried to share us everything that we need to know despite the time limit that was given to him and you can really see from the way he speaks that he's an approachable person and very much willing to share more tips," shared emerging beauty vlogger Dianne Buscaino (@diannebuscaino).

Jess recommended a number of helpful apps and softwares to install including Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Final Cut, Premiere Elements, and Premiere Clip.

Melanie Joana Azcueta Supan-Laud (@lets_get_laud), said that she still can't believe that she's one of the organizers of the first-ever Filipino vloggers workshop here in Qatar. "We've been planning this workshop for many months now but the polishing happened just a month before the actual date. At first, I doubted myself because I know for a fact that I am just a small time vlogger. But when we reached out to some merchants, I am happy to know that they believe in us and later on provided support for the initiative. Some generous brands even reached out to us when they knew about this workshop."

Apart from the lively and interactive workshops, gifts were also given away to lucky participants courtesy of FVQ's sponsors namely Max's Restaurant Middle East, Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha Golden Saba PastaMania Qatar, Le Park Salon and Spa, Bantré Arabia, and Le Monde Cafe.

Ms. Melanie concluded by revealing that since there are a lot of people who didn't make the cut due to shortage of slots, there will for surely be a second vloggers' workshop scheduled before the year ends. "We will announce the details soon and we're sure that we'll be having it in a bigger venue!" she shared.
