"Expect the unexpected" were the words written by Facebook user Shell Nosyas as headline when she posted the now viral almost 6-minute video clip where her husband Mario Sayson -- an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) working as an electrician in a construction firm in Qatar -- disguised himself as a restaurant worker to surprise his two kids who he hasn't seen in a while.
The said video clip now has almost a million views on Facebook and was recently featured in a popular television magazine news show in the Philippines.
In the staged situation, Princess and Nash -- Shell and Mario's children -- are seated inside a restaurant while a 'waiter' wearing red and green bandanas approach them from behind, but not to inform them of his presence -- but to serve them food. Everything went normal until Mario removed the mask he's wearing and revealed his face to his kids.
At first, Princess was stunned but she was quickly drowning in her own tears while Nash tries to digest what's going on. When he confirmed that it was really his father who was right in front of him, he didn't stop himself from breaking down while Mario hugs him on one side.
Shell, on the other hand, kept on recording the heart-warming reunion and stopped when Mario finally joined them on the dining table to have lunch.
"My wife and I connived to set up this surprise for Princess and Nash. They're usually the ones who are fond of surprising their mom whenever there are special occasions that's why I thought maybe it's about time for me to do the same for them. Until now, I can't believe that I was able to pull it off," said a teary-eyed Mario during an interview.
OFWs -- not only in Qatar but from all parts of the globe -- usually endure years of hardship as they need to work million of miles away from their families in order to provide for them regularly.
Mario is just one of the approximately 260,000 OFWs based in Qatar.
