Many of you may have come across the bold designs of Qatari Brand Fanilla Couture. Fanilla Couture was established in 2011 by the business woman Razan Suliman. With traditional patterns and modern compositions, the designed t-shirts were the first success for the brand since its launch.

Fanilla Couture has come a long way from being an internet based business selling its designs over Instagram and WhatsApp to being showcased in some of the bigger premium outlets of Doha. Suliman’s passion for creatively designing and her vision to preserve the beauty of the Arabic Gulf and its culture is embodied in every piece and these are now displayed at shops like ‘Junction’ in Hamad International airport, 51 East in the Lagoona Mall and the Gate Mall, ‘Boutique Muscat’ in Muscat and will soon be on sale in Dubai as well.

Until now Fanilla Couture has introduced a total of 9 different collections, each one better than the one before. Such success allowed Suliman to feature clothing for men, women and kids in different designs, shapes and styles, while it started with only t-shirts for women. Gulf heritage and Arabic culture was celebrated by the first men’s collection in Ramadan 2014, with great reception from the public.

While new items include Abayas, Kimonos, Sweaters and sweat pants, Fanilla Couture also takes pride in their national day collections. What better way to be proud than by showing your gratitude, love and pride of and for your country! This years successful national day collection named “Sheikhat Al Zayn” was shaped by elegance and sophistication. Conservative patterns combined with elegant designs made for the national day occasion and your expression of love for Qatar.

After last years collection “Queen of the desert”, this national day collection had many new sensations including cute cape dresses, matching kaftans and leggings, pencil skirts, and adorable matching clothing for the little ladies. Patriotism is in the air - or more so in the clothing, with Arabic vintage gold being the focus and the Qatari flag’s colors in the background.

Those who already know and love Fanilla Couture are familiar with the refreshing and catchy style of the brand combining opposites pop culture and traditional elements. What might be a challenge for most, creatively flows for Razan Suliman with perfection. Who says you can’t look stunning wearing sweats, extravagant wearing a T, sophisticated wearing your Abaya, or fresh wearing dresses and capes?
