Use your Qatar National Library membership today to gain free access to Libby by OverDrive—the one-tap reading app that provides a wide variety of ebooks and audiobooks by popular authors such as Stephen King, Kristin Hannah and Philip Pullman. You can also access magazines like The New Yorker, The Economist and Good Housekeeping.

Here’s how to access Libby and some of its key features that make reading easy for you and your family.

Step 1: Visit the Qatar National Library website or download the Libby mobile app.

• Visit the Library’s website
• Click on Online Resources
• Click Ebooks, Audiobooks and Music
• Click the letter “O” for OverDrive on the “A to Z Databases” page

Sign in with your Library username and password

Or

Open the App Store or Google Play store and download the Libby app on your mobile device, install it and sign in with your Library username and password.

Step 2: If you are using the mobile app, confirm that you have a local library card or membership.

Step 3: Libby will guess your local library (Qatar National Library) based on your location and you will need to confirm if the information is correct.

Step 4: Once the Library has been confirmed, you will be asked to enter your membership details.

Step 5: Libby will now confirm your access details so you can begin browsing books by categories (kids, teens, mystery and thriller, business, and more) or set your preferences as well.

You are now ready to use Libby!

Key features provided by Libby to make reading fun and easy

1. Advanced search features allow you to add your preferences (format, subject, language and more).
2. Audiobooks allow you to adjust the speed of the narration.
3. You can bookmark where you stopped reading or listening and resume from the same point later.
4. You can choose to be notified about the latest editions of magazines or books.
5. You can highlight text if you want to know more about a word.
6. You can view your saved notes in your chosen color.
7. You can also waitlist a book if it’s not available at the time, so you can borrow it when it is available. In case Libby does not have the book at all, you can also submit a request form.
