Two large earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.8 and 7.6 devastated large parts of southeastern Türkiye and Syria on 6 February 2023. Thousands lost their lives in the tragedy, and rescue efforts within the countries and relief aid from across the world are ongoing.
Qatar has also been sending aid relief to support the victims. Apart from this, businesses around Qatar are also donating proceeds from their sales to charity. Check the list below to know where you can support the efforts.

In coordination with the Qatar Red Crescent Society, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Doha has set up a donation drive for those affected by the earthquake. The embassy has listed its suggested in-kind donations, including unused winter clothing for adults and children, tents, beds, diapers, flashlights, thermos, and more. Used donations will not be accepted.
The donations can be sent to the below addresses from 9 am to 5 pm between 8-10 February and will be transported to Türkiye by the Turkish Airline.
Qatar Foundation (QF) has launched a donation drive for the Türkiye & Syria earthquake victims. In collaboration with Qatar Charity, QF is asking the public to donate in any way they can but encourages them to donate in kind. Donations encouraged are warm clothes for all ages, warm blankets, hygiene kits, and dry and canned foods with 6 months expiration date.
Qatar Museums (QM) has announced a campaign named ‘Be Their Hope’, encouraging staff, visitors, and sponsors, to participate in donating items to help survivors of the recent devastating earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye.
Interested donors are requested to donate canned foodstuffs with an expiry date of at least 6 months (powdered milk and canned goods), clothes and blankets (only new items will be accepted), hygiene products (diapers in sizes suitable for children and elderly, sanitizers, alcohol, and surgical gloves), first aid supplies (antiseptic spray, bandages and dressings, safety pins, sterilizing wipes, adhesive tape, foil blankets, etc.) and toys of any kind.

All money gathered will be given to Qatar Charity to contribute to aiding those affected by the earthquake Türkiye & Syria. The entrance fee is QR 50 in cash, but participants are encouraged to contribute more if they so choose!
