Our electronic devices provide a lot of services and make our lives much more convenient. Once they break or reach their end of life, what should we do? Any device that has a plug consumes electricity, but that’s not where the environmental impact ends. These devices include components made from precious metals and toxic materials that contaminate our environment - our drinking water, air, and soils - if not disposed of properly. We can help reduce the environmental impact by delaying newer model purchases and by recycling old models when we do replace them.

What has a higher concentration of precious metals?

  1. One tonne of mined ore
  2. One tonne of e-Waste
  3. One tonne of ocean plastic
  4. One tonne of scrap metal from vehicles

Check your answer and find out how to responsibly dispose of e-Waste at Challenge#30-SustainableQATAR.com.
