Doha British School recently hosted an international university fair which consisted of 42 institutions from Qatar, UK, USA and Canada. This was the biggest fair held at the school and attracted more than 400 students across all year groups, and other schools in the country.
The universities were represented by the CIS Schools committee, British Council and a group of Canadian universities. Students had an opportunity to interact with admission representatives and discuss their ambitions, course requirements and learn more about of the types of courses that would best suit them. We also had 2 external schools visit our school and bring their own students on the day. Guidance counsellor collaboration is key and we always share events and information with each other to give our students the best possible opportunities available in Qatar and beyond.
"Our students apply to universities around the world and it is extremely important for them to have that face to face contact with university representatives to learn more about academic and non academic requirements. With different educational systems available at our school, our students need to understand what is expected of them so they can prepare themselves as best as they can" said Sara Prince, Careers Education and Guidance Counsellor.
