The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), in a Twitter post, announced the procedures for organising Umrah for citizens and residents of Qatar.

According to the video posted by Awqaf on Twitter, the Ministry said procedures for citizens of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) include:

  • Registration via the Tawakkalna App.
  • 3-day quarantine in a hotel.
  • Requesting an Umrah permit through Eatmarna Application.

The procedures for residents in Qatar (non GCC citizens) include:

  • The package for Umrah must be booked through an accredited external Umrah agent and a Saudi Umrah company that guarantees housing, transportation etc.
  • The agent, through the Saudi company then books the date of Umrah and the visit through the Eatmarna Application.
  • The Umrah company then undertakes the giving of visas for Qatar residents.
  • A PCR test must be presented, confirming that the person is free from COVID-19, and it is issued by an accredited centre in the country in which the pilgrim resides.
  • The period of the test should not exceed 72 hours. This must be followed by a 3-day hotel quarantine.
