Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) honoured on Thursday morning Aspire Academy’s advisory board for their contributions to the Academy’s five-year journey to receive the Council of International Schools (CIS) Accreditation.
During the ceremony, Mr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, Acting CEO of Aspire Zone Foundation, honoured the Academy’s advisory board in the presence of Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Deputy Director General of Aspire Academy, Mr. Badr Al-Hay, Director of Education and Student Care at Aspire Academy and Jassem Al-Jaber, School Principal at Aspire Academy.
Speaking to the attendees, Mr. Al Suwaidi said: “We are proud of this achievement, which you have accomplished through exemplary teamwork, and such an accreditation feeds directly into achieving the Foundation’s vision to be the reference in sports excellence worldwide by 2020. Through such accomplishments, we are able to service the community and support our up and coming generations, who will be the leaders of tomorrow. We firmly believe that the journey of development is continuous and we will continue to work together to improve the services offered by all departments in the Foundation”.
The accreditation application process took five years in total and included a number of phases including gaining membership, implantation of recommended qualification standards and peer-review visits by CIS teams who assess the policies and procedures in place and the quality of an institution’s infrastructure and facilities. The current CIS accreditation requires the Academy to maintain the standards it has achieved, and involves an annual assessment.
Prior to this, the Academy was awarded membership of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFMQ), through which it secured the “Committed to Excellence accreditation.
The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a global non-profit, non-national, non- regionally affiliated organisation that is committed to promoting high quality international education around the world. It includes more than 660 schools and 475 colleges and universities representing 110 countries, with more than 425 of those having received accreditation.
