The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara continued to provide an exceptional experience to visitors through the Al Thuraya Planetarium shows which offer a variety of documentaries and movies for children to enrich their knowledge about the space and different galaxies in the universe.

At the beginning of this month, it held a range of shows including Dawn of the Space Age 3D Show. More shows will be held this month and on August 1.

Children get the opportunity to travel through the outer space and discover our solar system through different set of eyes in the movie named "The perfect little planet" which introduces a family from another star seeking the perfect holiday spot.

The Al Thuraya Planetarium based in Katara is equipped with high-tech large screen with a capacity for 200 visitors which generate panoramic shows for the audience.

Occupying 2,240 sqm area, the planetarium is expected to become one of the main attractions at Katara. It offers a rare experience to visitors, blending education and entertainment, especially students, families and astronomy enthusiasts.

The main component of the planetarium is a full-dome digital system with a seating capacity of 200 people, four seats for the disabled and another four for the elderly. It features a 22-meter screen, equipped with state-of-the-art digital projectors showing 2D and 3D tutorial shows.
