All about Eid Al Fitr celebrations by MOI

The celebration of Eid Al Fitr organized by the Ministry of the Interior on Tuesday attracted thousands of Asian communities, which reflects Qatar's keenness on ensuring an ideal environment for residence and work.

The events, which were held in the Asian residential city of the industrial zone, Barwa Al Baraha and Al Khor industrial zone, included sporting, musical and show performances, with the participation of a number of artistic groups that inspired the enthusiasm of Asian audiences.

The Eid celebrations also included awareness issues in the areas of security and safety, laws regulating the entry and exit of expatriates, the labor market, human rights, and other educational and awareness items that were presented by a number of departments of the Ministry of Interior.

At the Barwa recreation complex for workers in the Al Khor industrial zone, the events started with a series of sports activities in which the members of the communities competed in football, volleyball, running and other games. The Indian, Nepalese and Bangladeshi communities presented a number of cultural events and performances of Asian art and heritage, as well as performances of the orchestra.

Lt. Col. Saeed Amer Al Nuaimi, Head of Community Police Department, in Al Shamal Branch said that the celebration with the members of the communities on various occasions, such as Eid Al Fitr, bears great significance on the interest of the Ministry of the Interior in the residents, and its keenness to allow them to enjoy their arts and popular heritage that presented them in these beautiful evenings.

Al Nuaimi pointed out that the Community Police Department is the link between members of the community, whether citizens or residents and the police. He added that the department is keen to participate in these events to introduce community members to the role of community policing in the service of citizens and residents, to provide some tips and guidance, to inform them about the customs and traditions of the Qatari community and the importance of complying with the laws and regulations in force in the country.

He pointed out that the Community Police Department is using this opportunity to introduce members of the communities to the ways of communicating with the police to solve their problems.

In the residential city of the industrial zone, Lt. Issa Saleh Al Sulaiti from the Search and Follow up Department, raised a number of important issues, foremost of which is the importance of carrying personal IDs permanently, and advised the public in the case of escape reports to go to the Search and Follow-up Department to end the matter in accordance with the applicable laws.

Furthermore, Officer Ghanem Hamad Al Sulaiti of the Rescue Police Department (Al Fazaa) gave an awareness lecture which included many tips and instructions, especially regarding carrying an ID card and cooperation with security men. He also noted the role of the department and its constant efforts to preserve security within its competencies.

At the Asian city residential stadium in the industrial zone in Doha, the Ministry of the Interior's celebrations began the first days of Eid Al Fitr with the participation of hundreds of workers.

Also, Lt. Mohammed Saif Al Marri of the Establishments and Authorities Security Department, said that the department uses such activities to inform participants of the importance of adhering to the law and complying with the instructions of the security men to ensure security and peace for all.

In the Barwa Al Baraha, the Asian communities witnessed a variety of artistic and educational activities.
