From chess clubs to general groups in the country, you have a lot of options in Qatar. Here, we have listed a few groups that not only help you build a social circle but be of aid in times of need.

Doha Tweetups

One of the most active groups that is always willing to welcome new people, Doha Tweetups is a club that has themed events that consists of speakers and local talent who are ready to reveal themselves. You will find people from different backgrounds here and you can connect with everyone. From food tastings to book swapping, Doha Tweetups is always planning something new for their group.

Doha Mums

The name of the group pretty much says it all, but there is so much more to Doha Mums. Not only are they passionate about raising kids in a comfortable environment, they have various events such as get-togethers, holidays, workshops and meetings to keep themselves busy and updated. In addition, Doha Mums has one of the biggest libraries in Doha at the moment, and one can just tell about the success of the group from there. They even have a forum where everyone shares tips and resources for new mums helping them to figure things out.

Ladies Group Tuesday

From September to June, a group of expat women meet together at Raddison Blu Hotel to have a cup of coffee and celebrate the move. From speakers on new information on golf, beading and various topics, the Ladies Group is always in full action. To make it all the more interesting, they offer various discounts on airfares, hotels and other entertainment. In order to be a part of this group you have to sign up for their annual membership for QR 150/year or pay QR70/ meeting for breakfast or brunch gatherings.

Doha Garden Club

Another group that aims towards a specific target, Doha Garden Club is ready to prepare you with regular meetings to keep you inspired for ideas for your garden. They will provide more knowledge and share ideas to keep your garden beautiful and perhaps even give some extra help. A good way to learn about gardening and interact at the same time, Doha Garden Club is full of information and is a useful way to spend your time.

Qatar Expats

Again, the title says it all. If you’re new and looking to socialise, join the Qatar Expat Groups who hold different activities such as horseback riding, coffee plans, dinners, beach trips, boat trips and shooting, amongst the few. You can meet new people and start enjoying these gatherings as they will be a lot of help to settle you in.

Over Eaters Anonymous

Apart from socialising groups, there are groups in Qatar that are there to help you as well. Over eater anonymous is for people who are recovering from compulsive overeating. A self-supporting group, they help you maintain your pledge to abstain from compulsive eating. In addition, it is also for people with any time of eating disorder.

Soul riders

A part of the Qatar Riding group, this group is all about community work while looking badass. They support different events but know how to have fun on their own as well. From beach trips to BBQ’s you will be able to find a little something to do with them at all times
