Zengo, the award winning Pan-Asian restaurant by celebrity chef and restaurateur Richard Sandoval, has opened its doors in Qatar.
Inspired by the world travels of Chef-Owner Richard Sandoval and the ancient spice routes from Asia to the Far East, Zengo’s menu offers a unique spin on authentic Pan-Asian cuisine. The menu ranges from sushi, sashimi and hand-crafted Dim Sum; to curry dishes, grilled entrees, and wok dishes. Hand-muddled mocktails, with a focus on Asian flavors, complement the diverse menu.
Situated on the 61st floor of the Kempinski Residences & Suites in West Bay alongside the acclaimed Z Lounge, the restaurant features a vibrant décor that fuses modern Asian and inventive design, providing the perfect ambience to savour the cuisine and adventurous variety of flavors. A unique door leads guests into the beautiful avian themed interior that boasts an open timber slot ceiling, housing origami-style bird sculputures that float above guests. A Sushi counter extends along the windows, where the impressive Doha skyline becomes the backdrop, offering an expressive and picturesque dining experience. Zengo Doha has the capacity to seat 160 guests – 120 in the ground floor restaurant, and with an additional 40 in the upstairs lounge.
The upper floor can be accessed by an elegant staircase that is encased within an oversized birdcage, leading to the lounge that could accommodate individual guests and could be made private for groups. The accent tiled wall finishing and concrete floors with subtle golden veins, give Zengo a rustic yet modern look. Antique wooden cabinets along with leather and cotton fabric seats create an open residential atmosphere as well as an added layer of warmth.

Zengo Doha is Sandoval’s fourth restaurant in Qatar along with Toro Toro, Isla in the Pearl and Z Lounge, which is also located in the 61st floor of Kempinski Residences & Suites.
Leading the restaurant’s culinary offering, Marko Maric has been appointed as Head Chef of Zengo Doha. Bringing over 17 years of international experience in European, Latin American and Asian cuisines to his role, Chef Maric will work alongside Sandoval to introduce a menu of contemporary Asian flavours to Qatar. Based in Doha since 2014, Chef Marik was responsible for the successful launch of Toro Toro.
