Vodafone launches its enhanced handset Trade Up service with an exclusive Samsung Galaxy S6 offer across all its stores. Vodafone’s first Trade Up model, launched in June 2014, was a great success with close to 3,000 customers trading their old handsets with newer ones that allow them to enjoy faster data experience over Vodafone 4G and 4G+. All traded handsets have either been refurbished or recycled in support of eco-friendly operations. Vodafone is the only telecom operator in Qatar to offer such a service.

With this Trade Up service, offered by Vodafone’s new vendor PCS Wireless, and the exclusive Samsung launch offer, customers trading their old mobile phones and purchasing the new Samsung Galaxy S6 will receive an additional QAR 400 discount on the S6 in addition to 15 GB of free data per month for three months on Postpaid and 6 GB of free data for 90 days on Prepaid.

Vodafone Qatar said, “We are delighted to launch the enhanced Vodafone Trade Up service with a global provider such as PCS Wireless. This comes at a perfect time as it allows our customers to enjoy a great data experience on the Vodafone network. Additionally, all the traded devices will be recycled making the entire process, thus, very eco-friendly and clutter free.”

With the new Trade Up model in place, Vodafone is partnering with global PCS Wireless to provide an enhanced experience and prices to customers and the new process has never been simpler as only two key factors are evaluated to determine the price of the phone and these are whether the phone powers on and whether the screen is cracked or broken. For example, a Samsung Galaxy S5 will be valued at QAR 750; a Samsung Galaxy S4 will be valued at QAR 540; an iPhone 5s will be valued at QAR 950; and an iPhone 5 will be valued at QAR 630.

To avail of this service, customers can bring their used phone to any of Vodafone’s retail stores and with the instant value given they can trade it in for anything in store. This includes new devices such as the latest 4G and 4G+ smartphones, accessories, prepaid credit or postpaid bill payment. The transaction happens simultaneously to ensure the customer can use the Trade Up value immediately.

Trading up with Vodafone is worry free, customers do not need to bring their phone box, chargers or ear phones – only the phone and battery is enough. Moreover, there is 100% data security as Vodafone performs full professional data wiping before the phone is resold.

In turn, PCS Wireless said: “We are thrilled to partner with Vodafone Qatar to launch the country’s only mobile Trade Up program. With more than 10 million mobile devices processed each year in some 80 countries around the world, PCS Wireless is able to leverages its unmatched expertise to provide customers with access to the latest devices at the lowest prices, while ensuring their data remains secure.”
