Vodafone Qatar has recently been named amongst the top three Employers of the Year in MENA. At the 7th Annual MENA HR Excellence Awards 2015, which were held alongside the 10th Annual Human Assets Expansion Summit MENA, Vodafone came in second place for “Employer of the Year – Private Sector”.

Organised by Naseba, the MENA HR Excellence Awards 2015 celebrates leading employers and HR practitioners for their outstanding achievements and drive for impactful human capital strategies. It gives all organisations in the MENA region an opportunity to showcase their initiatives and be recognised and acclaimed for excellence in the area of human capital management and development.

The Employer of the Year – Private Sector award category rewards an organisation for its commitment to supporting employees at all levels and excelling through talent retention, employer branding, nationalisation, learning and development, CSR activities, health and safety, and diversity and inclusion, all of which are key priorities for Vodafone Qatar.

Kyle Whitehill, Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Qatar, said: “We are very honoured and proud to have received this coveted accolade which is a solid testament to our unmatched best practices in attracting, retaining and developing a great workforce. Our Employer Brand ‘We are at our best, when you are at Yours’ reflects our belief that with the right people, who are motivated and inspired, as a company we can achieve great things.”

Mohamed Al-Sadah, Chief Administration Officer of Vodafone Qatar, said: “We are extremely happy to have received this industry recognition that culminates our outstanding achievements in the HR space and highlights our steadfast efforts to promote a unique working culture that falls strongly in line with our image of being a Global Company with Local Roots. We depend on more than 500 people in Vodafone Qatar who have the right capabilities and enthusiasm to achieve success. We aim to attract and retain the best by offering a motivating workplace where talent is recognised and wellbeing is promoted. We listen to our employees’ views, respond to their feedback and take action to improve. Engaging employees in our goals and embedding a culture that supports these is fundamental to a high performance team and grow our ability to deliver on our commitment to customers according to The Vodafone Way.”

Vodafone Qatar aims to be an admired brand: Admired by employees, customers, shareholders, and the community. Vodafone launched The Vodafone Way in 2009 to achieve this. Anita Tomany, Head of HR Centres of Expertise at Vodafone Qatar, said: “The Vodafone Way is how we do things at Vodafone and it makes us unique. The Vodafone Way is what makes us stand out from the rest. It helps us achieve our business objectives, deliver to our customers and realise our ambition to be a truly admired company. Over the last three years, we’ve held numerous workshops to create a common understanding across the Vodafone leadership population of how it looks and feels to work and lead in The Vodafone Way and this is the workplace culture we bring to all talent on board.”

The Vodafone Way is underlined by the following key traits: every Vodafone talent must be customer-obsessed; innovation hungry; ambitious & competitive; reflecting the One Company, Global Roots image; working with Speed, Simplicity & Trust; and being an Admired Leader.

“We’re at our best when you’re at yours. This is what drives our Employer Brand. The great thing about technology isn’t how big, fast or clever it is – it’s about the great things you can do by having it at your fingertips. It’s about how it can empower people to connect, to achieve things or try them for the first time. This motivates us to put people at the forefront of our brand communications – by using our technology to improve people’s lives, we connect with the communities that we’re part of. This is about people at their best, using our technology and solutions to make the most of their lives. Vodafone’s Employer Brand is centred on our best practices for the recruitment, engagement and retention approaches we have in place and we firmly believe we are one of the most attractive workplace cultures in Qatar.” Al-Sadah continued.
