Supporting its commitment to strong business partnerships, United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari Shareholding Company and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, signed a lease agreement Monday with Palma Hospitality Group to launch a series of genuine food and beverage (F&B) concepts as well a unique family entertainment center, over a total area of 7000 square meters in Medina Centrale at The Pearl-Qatar.
The agreement which was signed by Ehab Kamel, General Manager for Retail Leasing at The Pearl-Qatar, and Charbel Mhanna, Executive Manager of Palma Hospitality Group, will see the opening of two restaurants, La Casa 28 and Debs w Reman as well as the world-renowned coffee shop, Mokarabia. Moreover, a mega entertainment center, Metropolis, will comprise another five trendy F&B offerings: Saladworks, Earl of Sandwich, Camille’s Ice cream and Mister Pizza and a café and entertainment outlet for kids.
While La Casa 28 derives its culinary influences from around the Mediterranean region, Debs W Reman focuses on Levantine cuisine, and the popular Mokarabia supplies high-quality coffee blends for caffeine addicts.
Metropolis pledges to be a unique hybrid entertainment center of regional impact, combining a multitude of entertainment venues that range from arcades and indoor attractions like golf, bowling, snooker, billiard and darts, to high tech games and an active sports zone. The entertainment center spanning over 6,000 square meters will be further marked by an enhanced food and beverage service and a more sophisticated service model.
“The concepts which will be brought by Palma Hospitality Group are strategic to the building of an interesting and diversified retail mix which suits the budding spirit of Medina Centrale, dubbed as the Island’s town center,” Ehab Kamel, General Manager for Retail Leasing at The Pearl-Qatar, said.
He added United Development Company’s focus at this stage of developing The Pearl-Qatar is to secure a dynamic retail mix for Medina Centrale.
“With commercial spaces of about 56,000 square meters ready,” he said, referring to commercial space available at Medina Centrale, “we are aggressively pursuing our expansion plans by attracting global brands to open outlets here.”
For his part, Charbel Mhanna, Executive Manager of Palma Hospitality Group said, “The Pearl-Qatar is a tourist landmark and a unique lifestyle destination not only for Qatar but also the whole region, and we are confident that our hybrid concepts will contribute to the Island’s reputation as a destination for tourists and entertainment-seekers alike.”
Medina Centrale is the Town Center of The Pearl-Qatar offering a unique blend of residential, shopping and leisure experiences. It is dynamically located at the heart of the Island, combining the tranquility and charm of Viva Bahriya with the elegance and sophistication of Porto Arabia along with a wide variety of shopping and dining options.
Palma Hospitality Group is a company dedicated to the development of new restaurant and family entertainment concepts in Doha. It has recently revealed ambitious expansion plans that include opening and managing international hospitality brands in Medina Centrale, Mall of Qatar and other retail zones around Doha. The group currently operates the award-winning Damasca, an authentic Syrian restaurant in Souq Waqif, an eatery which has proved popular with Qataris and tourists alike.
