Tourism sector 6 million visitors annually add 12 percent gdp 2030

According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), H.E. Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Group CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker has shared that the State of Qatar received more than one million visitors from January-August 2022 and aims to triple the number of visitors by 2030 to 6 million visitors annually.

QNA reports that Qatar aims to become the fastest-growing destination in the Middle East, increase domestic spending in tourist destinations, and increase the contribution of the travel and tourism sector to Qatar's gross domestic product from 7% to 12% while doubling job opportunities in the tourism sector.

Qatar Tourism has also announced the launch of the “Feel More in Qatar” campaign, highlighting Qatar as a premium destination and the Middle East’s top choice for tourists.

The global campaign will be rolled out in over 17 markets globally, taking a 360 approach through social media, TV, digital channels, press, and a dedicated website.
