The ‘Discover America Week’ kicked-off to an exhilarating start with the launch of a special tourism kiosk by the US Ambassador Dana Shell Smith at The Gate Mall. Named “Discover America”, the kiosk is a special initiative by The Gate Mall and Salam Stores to promote tourism to the US, as it partakes in the week-long celebration. The launch was attended by representatives from the U.S embassy, The Gate and Salam Stores, alongside members of the press.

Discover America Week Qatar 2016 is an annual series of events celebrating the US-Qatar partnership. Running from February 15– 22, 2016, the week-long event will highlight American business and innovation, travel, food, music, fashion, art, education and culture.

Commenting on the inauguration event, Abdul Salam Abu Issa, Deputy C.O.O. & Board Member (Salam International Investment), said: “The Gate Mall and Salam Stores management are delighted to lend our support to the Discover America Week, as we come together to celebrate a great nation such as the US. The ‘Discover America’ kiosk is a unique initiative that provides residents in Qatar an exciting opportunity to explore the various destinations of the US. The ‘Discover America’ kiosk is a gateway for customers looking to travel to the United States. It offers a range of tailored packages and special promotions from Qatar Airways to facilitate travel plans and procedures for residents in Qatar. It will operate daily, until 21^st of February 2016 at The Gate Mall.
