Every week ILQ features a different Qatari startup in a segment called ‘Startup of the Week’. Qatar has some of the most creative, unique, and impactful startups in the region. This week we spotlight Tazweed, a local app that can help you help your car!

Tazweed is an online platform that focuses on car parts and services. This startup essentially acts as a middleman between car owners and suppliers that offer car-related services all over the GCC. Tazweed aims to be the region’s one-stop shop to display and compare prices, enable buyers to order and sell car parts and find services for their cars such as mechanics, tuners, painters, tints/car wrap shops and more. Car enthusiasts are also welcome to provide their ratings and give feedback to help other app-users.

“We decided to create an online platform for the entire region where to find and locate a part can be as easy as possible,” said Mohammed Althani. “Being gearheads ourselves we faced a lot of challenges to locate simple car parts that we have to order from the USA or Europe. Even though they’re available here [they’re] hard to find due of a lack of access to shops or junkyards, or even people who want to sell their parts.”

Initially the app was meant to be available only in Qatar, but after the 2017 Qatar Motor Show, where the founders were able to showcase the app and see the excitement of people from all over the region, they are available in all GCC countries.
