Every Thursday, ILQ features a different Qatari startup in our ‘Startup of the Week’ segment. Qatar has some of the most creative, unique, and impactful startups in the region, and we cover them all across a variety of industries in Doha—from fashion and beauty to food and dining, health, education, technology, and more!
This week, we're shining the spotlight on Fatora, an online smart invoicing platform that streamlines online payments between merchants and their clients in Qatar and the MENA region in general.
Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), the Qatari platform was launched last year and got an investment from the Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). It's under MaktApp, a cloud-based application that helps companies manage its office, team, and clients in order to save money, time, and to be more productive and organised.
Fatora is available as a mobile and PC application. Talking to MaktApp CEO Saleh Al-Mansouri, he shared to ILoveQatar.Net that their mission is to increase the productivity of companies with fewer efforts and take the utmost care of that in all of their products and services.
Al-Mansouri also cited that Fatora's AI features is used to help merchants get paid online by notifying their clients on the best time to pay, besides its detection of any fraud action. Merchants can also create an invoice for their clients by just taking a snapshot of the printed invoice.
Supporting both English & Arabic languages, Fatora has solved the problem for many Qatari companies with smaller businesses who are facing issues to collect payments from clients for their products or services.
It can be integrated easily with any existing accounting system in the company. Fatora guarantees the security of client's and transactions data while increasing productivity and accelerating the payment process.
Al-Mansouri shared:
"Our customers reported time saving and faster payments after using the application."
The specialized Fatora team continues to cooperate with a number of institutions in Qatar to develop the digital economy at the national level. This commitment is reflected in the support and strengthening of the payments sector in its partnership with the QDB and the Ministry of Communications.
Urban Point recently participated in the sixth edition of the annual Global Seedstars Summit which was held at Lausanne, Switzerland from April 2nd to 5th this year. This premier event eyes to discover the top startups in the world's most emerging and fastest-growing economies.
Approximately 1500 merchants are currently using Fatora with more than 6000 invoices paid. To know more about Fatora, check out their, website and social media links below!
