Every week ILQ features a different Qatari startup in a segment called ‘Startup of the Week’. Qatar has some of the most creative, unique, and impactful startups in the region. This week we’re featuring OdaabO, a new online cab booking service in Qatar.

OdaabO is a transportation app available to download on the App Store and Google Play with a motto of ‘Ride with no regrets’. Claiming that ‘You don’t have to be rich to travel well’, OdaabO’s focus is to set itself apart from other similar companies, through a heightened guest experience and customer service. In fact, every passenger is referred to as a guest!

To use the app users must sign up to register – then, they can book a car simply by tapping a button all on a single screen. Once a passenger’s current location and street name are received, a vehicle is immediately dispatched. Payment can also be made directly through the app, with a function to track the driver’s identity and vehicle information on the go.

What makes OdaabO unique is that there is an app for passengers (‘Sign Up To Ride’), and a separate app for drivers (‘Sign Up To Drive’). Drivers are looked at as partners in the business rather than employees, offering what they describe as a lowest commission rate and better rates for registered drivers, positioning OdaabO as a competitive, reliable, and economical option for getting where you need to go! Now that’s ajeeb!
