This week, we're putting the spotlight on Qeeks—a do-it-yourself mobile app building platform where people can create Android and iOS apps by themselves using an intuitive click-and-build interface. And because ease of access is what Qeeks seeks to provide—there's no coding experience required in order to build your own app!

Qatar is undergoing a tremendous adoption of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) concept, which means businesses—especially those in Qatar—are more interested in digital presence. There is also an increasing number of innovative ideas coming from young entrepreneurs who are mostly smartphone-oriented.

What Qeeks does is it adds value to businesses by having a mobile app in the shortest time possible at a fraction of the cost of hiring developers or agencies. Qeeks also enables startups to validate their idea without having to develop a fully-functional native app, not to mention the time and cost associated with it.

Qeeks is under Blue Lynx, an IT company operating since 2011, founded by two young entrepreneurs Mohamed Harif and Hashir Abdulla. Qeeks, in its initial development phase, was incubated by the Digital Incubation Center (DIC) in 2016. It then released a beta platform in 2017 and was made available publicly on January of this year.

"Blue Lynx now serves different Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar with products and solutions ranging from IP Telephone system, Network infrastructure, Security Assessment, Custom Web and Mobile App development, Robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT)", according to co-founder Mohamed.

A wide range of portfolio in IT products and solutions and innovative solutions like Qeeks (Mobile App Builder), Bluelynxonline.com (Online electronics store), QHotspot (Social WIFI at qhotspot.com), Domains Qatar ( Domains and Hosting at domainsqatar.com), Blue Cast (Cloud Digital signage), Cloud PBX, and Cloud IVR to name a few are just some of the unique features that separates Blue Lynx from its fellow tech start-ups.

Speaking to Hashir, another co-founder, he happily shared that Qeeks garnered very good reviews from users specifically for its ease of creating mobile apps in the shortest time. "The platform underwent numerous iterations based on the feedback from initial users, which were mostly fellow startups at DIC," he continued.

The two young entrepreneurs believe that startups, if supported in the correct direction, can tremendously help in the economic growth of Qatar.

When asked about his advice for aspiring entrepreneurs in Qatar, he has this to say: "Any idea may sound crazy at first. But you have to know that no matter what people may say, if you feel you have to do it, then just simply do it. Sometimes, it may require a lot of patience, but if you work consistently and relentlessly towards your goal, then you'll for sure get rewarded in the end."
