Qatari women and their role in society highlighted by Bedaya

Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, hosted an elite group of Qatari women at a panel discussion highlighting the most important achievements of Qatari women. This activity coincided with International Women's Day, which is celebrated globally on the 8 March 2019.

During the event at Marsa Katara, Her Excellency, Lolwah Al-Khater spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nisrine Al Malak - Institutional Programme Manager at the Qatar Leadership Centre, leading entrepreneur Mrs. Samia Al Saleh and the counselor and coach Mrs. Shafa Ali emphasised on the important role of women in society and its impact in all fields in order to stimulate Qatari women's leadership in various sectors.

Based on the guests’ impressive track record, drawing on their experiences and successes in various fields, in addition to the impact they have achieved in advancing the overall development and developing the local economy by re-crystallising the tasks of their traditional work; the discussion shed light on how leading women achieve balance between work and family.

On this occasion, Reem Al-Sowaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Centre, said, “We are honoured to host an elite women group from the Qatar society in conjunction with the International Women’s Day to highlight their most important achievements and to inform guests of the importance of the vital role played by Qatari women in various fields and diverse sectors. This meeting is a unique opportunity to share with the participants the achievements made by Qatari women and their contribution to society.”

“Thanks to the wise leadership and the enlightened vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and our esteemed government, Qatari women have been able to reserve a privileged position in various political, economic, social, sporting and other sectors, thus, translating the Qatar National Vision 2030, which seeks to flourish the country through the development of human resources and women are one of the strongest pillars of the growth,” she added.
